the edifice was built by josef amann in 1925. His son walter amann built a cider press and a distillery in an adjacent building. he professionally produced cider and schnaps until 1965. the premises were also used as a warehouse for hochriegel sparkling wine until 1991.

in 2003 i revived the old tradition, then with a mobile distillery. i am proud to have learned the craft from heinrich keckeis – a multiple world champion in this trade.

in 2010 the stationary distillery – bearing the name ‘sissi’ was inaugurated. ‘sissi’ has a mash capacity of 143 liters.
